Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken breast (cut into cubes)
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1 egg (beaten)
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil (for frying)
  • 3 tbsp light soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • 1 tsp minced ginger
  • 1/2 cup broccoli (optional, blanched)

Steps

  1. Coat chicken cubes with beaten egg and cornstarch. Let sit for 10 minutes.
  2. Heat oil to 350°F, fry chicken until golden and crispy. Drain on paper towels.
  3. In a separate pan, sauté garlic and ginger in a little oil. Add soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, and water. Bring to a simmer.
  4. Stir in sesame oil and fried chicken, tossing until evenly coated.
  5. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and serve with blanched broccoli.

Tips

Maintain oil temperature to avoid burning. For tender meat, substitute chicken thighs. Adjust honey for desired sweetness.
