
Tomato Beef Hot Pot
A comforting homestyle dish featuring tender beef slices simmered in tangy tomato broth, perfect for family meals.

Ingredients
- 14oz beef slices (preferably with some fat)
- 3 ripe tomatoes
- 1 onion
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp cooking oil
- Chopped green onions for garnish
Steps
- Score tomato tops and blanch in boiling water for 30 seconds to peel, then dice
- Slice onion and mince garlic
- Heat oil in pot and sauté onion/garlic until fragrant
- Add tomatoes and cook until juicy
- Pour in beef broth and tomato paste, bring to boil then simmer for 10 minutes
- Season with sugar, salt and pepper
- Add beef slices and cook just until color changes
- Garnish with green onions
Tips
Choose beef slices with some marbling for better texture. Don't overcook the beef to keep it tender.
