Ingredients

  • 500g pork belly
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 2 inch ginger
  • 4 green onions
  • 3 tbsp doubanjiang
  • 1 tbsp douchi
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp rice wine
  • 1/2 tsp white pepper
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • lettuce leaves for serving

Steps

  1. Boil pork belly in water for 20-30 minutes until partially cooked
  2. Remove and let cool, then slice into thin pieces about 1/4 inch thick
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a wok over medium-high heat
  4. Add garlic, ginger, and green onions, stir-fry until fragrant
  5. Add doubanjiang and douchi, stir-fry for 1 minute until oil turns red
  6. Add pork slices, stir-fry for 2-3 minutes
  7. Add soy sauce, sugar, rice wine, and white pepper
  8. Continue stir-frying for another 2 minutes
  9. Drizzle with sesame oil and mix well
  10. Serve hot on a bed of lettuce leaves
