
Beer Braised Duck
A tender duck dish braised with beer, offering a subtle malty aroma.

Ingredients
- 1 whole duck (about 4.4 lbs)
- 2 bottles of beer (about 16 oz each)
- 3 slices of ginger
- 2 green onions
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp dark soy sauce
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp five-spice powder
Steps
- Clean and cut the duck into pieces, blanch to remove impurities.
- Heat a little oil in a pot, sauté ginger slices and green onions until fragrant.
- Add duck pieces and stir-fry until lightly browned.
- Season with soy sauce, dark soy sauce, sugar, salt, and five-spice powder.
- Pour in beer, bring to a boil then simmer for 1 hour.
- Finally, turn up the heat to reduce the sauce.

Maintain moderate heat while braising to ensure the duck is flavorful and tender.
