Ingredients

  • 400g pork tenderloin
  • 1 cup cornstarch
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup vinegar
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 red bell pepper
  • 1 green bell pepper
  • 1 onion
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • vegetable oil
  • salt
  • white pepper

Steps

  1. Cut pork into 1-inch cubes and season with salt and white pepper
  2. Beat eggs and coat pork cubes in egg, then dredge in cornstarch
  3. Deep fry pork in oil at 350°F (175°C) until golden and crispy, about 3-4 minutes
  4. Remove pork and set aside
  5. In a bowl, mix sugar, vinegar, soy sauce, and ketchup to make the sauce
  6. Heat oil in a wok, sauté garlic and onion until fragrant
  7. Add bell peppers and stir-fry for 1 minute
  8. Pour in the sauce and bring to a boil
  9. Add the crispy pork and toss to coat evenly
  10. Cook for 1-2 minutes until sauce thickens
  11. Serve immediately with steamed rice
