
Grilled Fish
A spicy and flavorful Chinese-style grilled fish, crispy on the outside and tender inside, perfect for family gatherings.

Ingredients
- 1 whole fish (about 2 lbs, bass or cod recommended)
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp dark soy sauce
- 1 tbsp cooking wine
- 1 tbsp honey
- 2 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp five-spice powder
- 1 tsp minced ginger
- 1 tsp minced garlic
- 1/2 cup potatoes (cubed)
- 1/2 cup carrots (sliced)
- 1/2 cup onions (sliced)
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
Steps
- Clean the fish and make a few cuts on both sides for better flavor absorption.
- In a bowl, mix soy sauce, dark soy sauce, cooking wine, honey, chili powder, five-spice powder, minced ginger, and minced garlic to make the marinade.
- Coat the fish evenly with the marinade and let it sit for 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Line a baking tray with foil and brush with vegetable oil. Place the marinated fish on the tray.
- Spread the potatoes, carrots, and onions around the fish.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until the fish is cooked through and golden brown.
- Garnish with chopped green onions and cilantro before serving.
Tips
Flip the fish halfway through baking for even cooking. Add more chili powder if you prefer a spicier taste.
